NUTRIBAITS / ADVICE

The right amount is decided by fish activity, not bucket size.

There is no universal dose. Stock density, water temperature, session length, angling pressure, natural food and your objective all matter. A modest starting amount followed by a measured response is safer than feeding heavily without evidence.

01

Short sessions

During a few hours of fishing, the aim is often to draw fish to the rig rather than fill them. On unfamiliar water, roughly 200 to 500 g can be a sensible starting point, spread around the rig or combined with smaller particles. Add small amounts only when activity justifies it.

02

Longer campaigns

Multi-day fishing and pre-baiting may use substantially more bait, but only when fish are visiting and clearing the area. Split the total into several controlled applications instead of committing everything at once.

  • divide bait into smaller applications
  • replace only part of the amount after a bite
  • watch nuisance-fish activity
  • allow for depth, flow and spread on impact
03

When to add more

Increase feed when bites repeat, visible activity remains and fish return to the area. A high stock density may also justify more food. Make each increase gradual so you can read the response.

04

When to reduce it

Reduce the amount in cold water, on short sessions, on highly pressured venues or when activity falls after baiting. A small accurate presentation can outperform a large carpet that fish are not ready to eat.
